Test Generator Best Practices
A Guide to Standardizing Fonts

Introduction

To help ensure that your TG experience is a positive and productive one, we’ve assembled a list of best practices for your review.  We may have already shared some of this information with you during an online demo or through email/phone exchanges, if so, we apologize for repeating ourselves.

To make it easier to review, we've created a Standardizing Fonts tutorial which you can download here.  If you are unable to access the tutorial from the download site, please contact us and we will be happy to email it to you.

Audience

Some customers have reported noticing different fonts and font sizes in a test’s question and answer fields.  This tutorial will demonstrate how to standardize a test's font and font size.

For new customers or customers who are introducing team members to TG, we recommend reviewing the entire document.

Intermediate to advanced users may wish to scan the document and use it as a general reference.

In case you didn't already know

You, the test author, can select from several test-creation methods to include:
1- Create questions manually
2- Cut-and-paste from an existing electronic file
3- Import questions from TG's question banks
4- Import questions from a TG-friendly excel file.
5- Import questions from a TG-friendly text file.
6-Import questions from an RTF file.
7- Randomly select questions from one or multiple
question banks using TG's Test Wizard
8- Various combinations of 1 through 7

Consequently, it is possible to introduce content that was created using one or more fonts and font sizes.

Best Practice

We recommend creating one or more question banks first and then using one of the 7 test creation options described here..

Ideally, you have been, or you will be, starting at the question bank level.  We highly recommend organizing your test content such that it reflects the organization of your training curriculum.  If this concept is new to you, and you want some help, please contact us.

Standardizing your fonts and font sizes is a step that we recommend taking once you have all of your items in a question bank.
