In Test Generator, there are three user types and four user levels. The three user types include Administrators, Instructors, and Students. In order for users to be eligible to take tests, they must first have a user profile in TG's database. A user's profile includes a userid and password.
Administrators
The Tier1 Administrator has access to all TG modules and can create other administrators and assign permissions.
Tier2 Administrators can have similar privileges to the Tier1 Administrator; however, they cannot create other administrative-level users. Administrators can also serve as test authors.
Instructors / Trainers
Individuals in this group can access everything but the System folder and the lists of admin-level users. Individuals categorized under this user type, can be assigned to one or more classes as someone who is managing the class. Once assigned, these users can create, edit and activate tests and perform other class-specific tasks.
Test Takers
Anyone who takes a test as a "test taker". Your test-taking audience may consist of employees, trainees, students, customers or users. The label, "Test Taker" can be changed.
This category of user can only login to the Tester. Access is limited to the Classes in which they are enrolled.
TG Desktop and TG LAN users log in to a Windows Tester. TG Web users log in to a web Tester (intra- or internet). TG also supports AD/LDAP, optional.
In order for your audience to be able to log in and take a test, they need to have a user profile in TG's database. There are two out-of-the-box methods for doing that. Using the TG admin client:
1- You can manually create individual user profiles...
2- Or you can import your test takers by using a TG-friendly file format.
Administrators can also create one or more Instructor profiles to enable access to tests that require a proctor login in order to take a test.Uses: high-stakes, promotions-based testing.
The proctor role can also be used to manage one or more courses and tests, enrolling users, viewing, printing and exporting test data.
