Contact Information
Q: I would like to talk to someone immediately, is there a number I can call?
A: Yes, our contact information is available here.
Products
Q: Do you have a product table or page listing all of your products?
A: Yes, we recommend starting here. This page includes links to individual product pages as well as checklists for Features, Delivery, Audience, Support and System requirements. If you don't see what you're looking for, please contact us.
Q: How many Test Generator products are there?
A: One product and five different delivery solutions:
TG Desktop - Single computer
TG LAN - Network: Small or Large
TG Web - Web testing
ST - CD or non-networked test delivery
Q: What components make up Test Generator?
A: TG has three major components: 1) Test Generator - the application used by test administrators/authors and instructors, 2) Tester - the test delivery application used by test takers (students, employees, trainees) and 3) the database that stores and displays tests and test data.
Test Generator is a Windows-based application, and Tester can be a Windows- or web-based, test delivery tool.
Test Generator's Desktop and LAN solutions are Windows-based. TG Web includes a Windows test creation/administrative client and either a Windows- or Internet browser-based Tester.
Features
Q: Where can I find a listing of Test Generator's features?
A: Select the Features menu, located at the top of each page. A summary list is also available under the Updates History page. If you don't find what you're looking for, please contact us.
Q: We need to be able to offer testing in a computer lab and testing over our Intranet and distribute tests on CD. Can this be done?
A: Yes. This is a blended solution, which would include TG Web and ST.
TG Web would allow you to offer your testing in a computer lab or throughout your entire facility. You could use a Windows Tester or our web Tester.
Remote facilities that have poor or no network/Internet access could use ST, our stand-alone tester. Test results from ST test-taking sessions can be saved and returned to you for grading. For more on ST, go here or contact us.
Online Demo
Q: Is there a demo I can view online?
A: Yes, you'll find a TG Flash Demo link on our home page or click here. We also offer guided, online demos for customers interested in TG LAN or Web. Please contact us.

Note: The demo download is MS Access.

Installation
After Your Install
Q: I have downloaded the installer from your website. What do I do next?
A: Review the installation instructions.
Next, locate the installer file on your machine. If you don't remember where you saved it, open the Search utility under Start > Search (or Find), type in the name of the file or a portion of the file name for example, "TG2dl_TestGen-r2.4.14_Installer" or "TG2*.*" without the quotes.
Close any open applications. Next, run/open the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Once the installation is complete, restart your computer.
Select the Start > Programs (or All Programs) > Test Generator II > Test Generator (green G icon).
The first time you open TG, you will see a Test Generator introductory screen. Important: This screen contains your temporary USER ID and PASSWORD - please make a note of this. If you don't wish to see this screen again, un-check "Show this message next time." Click OK.
Login Screen: Enter the USER ID and PASSWORD and click the Login button to enter TG.

Q: I've created several tests. If I purchase the program will it save my work?
A: Yes. Your data is stored in TG's database. You can access this data any time within your 30-day trial period. Your data is not "lost" when your demo expires.
If you won't be able to purchase before your 30-day key expires, backup your data by selecting the Tools > Backup menu on the main screen. Save your data in a separate directory outside of the TG program directory.
Once you purchase TG, you will be able to activate the program and access your data. If you purchase TG LAN, you will receive instructions on converting your TG Desktop to TG LAN. If you are upgrading to TG Web, we will provide a database conversion utility or convert the data for you.
